The Meaning of Mercy (Part 1)

When one is at an Orthodox worship service, it doesn't take long to conclude that one of our favorite prayers is, “Lord, have mercy.”

Only three words long (only two words in Slavonic, Greek, Romanian and the other historic languages of Eastern Orthodoxy), this short prayer is overflowing with meaning. It could even be argued that it is really the only prayer that we need.
